Ex- Doctor Charged with Assault Allegations Involving 38 Patients

Legal authorities report that a former doctor now faces charges for committing sexual assaults involving 38 victims who were patients.

The Grave Allegations

The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with numerous sexual offences – comprising some against children younger than 13 – between 2017 and 2021.

A senior CPS official commented, “Our prosecutors have worked at length to support a detailed and complex police inquiry, meticulously examining the evidence to determine that there is a strong case to bring the case to trial and that it is in the public interest.”

Scope of the Police Inquiry

The charges follow what police described as a “detailed inquiry” into reported assaults at two hospitals: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall hospital.

The defendant is scheduled to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on 20 January.

List of Charges

Prosecutors outline the forty-five charges include:

  • Fifteen counts of sexual assault.
  • Seventeen counts of assault by penetration.
  • 9 counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
  • Three counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
  • 1 count of attempting to assault by penetration.

Police are urging anyone with concerns to contact the relevant police force.
