Loyal supporters of Ariana Grande are urging that a individual who leaped a fence and grabbed the celebrity during the recent Wicked: For Good debut be detained or removed from Singapore.

A viral video shows the person identified as Johnson Wen bypassing media personnel and charging at Grande while the cast walked down a yellow carpet surrounded by supporters.

Co-star Cynthia Erivo promptly guided the surprised performer away from Mr Wen, who was seen being escorted out of the event by guards.

Mr Wen stated on Instagram Thursday evening that he was "let go after being taken in", though court documents showed that he was set to be present on Friday morning. It is unknown if he was formally accused.

Pattern of Disruptions

This is part of a pattern for Mr Wen, who calls himself a "Controversial Figure", has invaded a performance. His Instagram account contains videos of him disturbing other celebrity events, including jumping on stage at the artist's Sydney show in recently and in a comparable manner during The Chainsmokers event in the area last December.

"Steps should be implemented applied against him as this is obviously a criminal offence," wrote an Instagram commenter, in a response to a video Mr Wen posted of his act.

"You've done this repeatedly... how are you not behind bars?" one Instagram user questioned.

Followers Express Concern Over Grande's Well-being

Several fans blamed Mr Wen for "re-traumatising" Grande, who had revealed experiencing PTSD after a terrorist explosion at the end of her 2017 concert in Manchester, resulting in the death of 22 people and injuring many.

"Ariana has been through so many scary things... and at her Manchester concert and you thought it would be fun to jump the barricade?" wrote a further response on Instagram.

Some fans also criticised event staff at the Thursday event for not being vigilant enough; while some requested social media platforms to block Mr Wen's content.

Reaction and Premiere Information

In footage circulating online, Grande looked startled when she was approached by the intruder. Her fellow actors Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be seen comforting her while Mr Wen was removed by guards.

Grande has remained silent on the event, and the remaining proceedings continued without further issues.

Hundreds of Singapore attendees had lined up to greet the cast of Wicked

Hundreds of attendees had congregated in a sea of colorful attire at the Wicked: For Good regional launch in a Singapore mall, including several who had waited for as long as a significant duration before it began.

The movie, to be launched on the 21st of November, is the follow-up of a dual interpretation of the well-known stage production Wicked, which revolves around the surprising friendship between two distinct sorceresses.

The production itself is a spin-off of the 1900 children's novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who portrays the benevolent sorceress Glinda, was dressed in a champagne pink sequin dress at the gathering while Erivo, who acts as the villainous character, wore a black tube gown featuring roses.

They were alongside cast member Jeff Goldblum.

The first movie, Wicked, was the highest-grossing motion picture of last year in the UK, and scored 10 Oscar nominations, earning several for excellent wardrobe and production design.
