Football Analyst Sutton Battles Artist Olly Murs in Top Flight Predictions

The Gunners' ten-match winning run was ended by the Black Cats before the international break, but will the Premier League frontrunners recover against north London rivals Tottenham this weekend?

"{I believe like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," stated soccer expert Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will attempt to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this season - but Mikel Arteta's side usually still find a way to win."

Sutton is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League games this term, against artificial intelligence, fans and a range of special visitors.

In the twelfth round, he faces singer Olly Murs, who is a United fan.

The singer's latest record, the new release, is available on the weekend.

Football and Family Life

Murs is a talented soccer player as well as a successful artist and has been a featured player of several charity football matches over time - but he is not planning a serious return as a footballer.

"{I recently played in a benefit game the other night for a friend of mine," he explained. "My team was losing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!

"I continue to love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it still hasn't fully recovered. I hope I could play more but the unpredictability of the sport means it's too dangerous for me in my profession to do it seriously again.

"Plus I am forty-one now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my daughter or boy chooses to play instead."

Murs and his spouse his partner have two children, Madison and their son, and he is prepared to emulate his dad by becoming their manager.

"I won't force football on our kids but I've already told my wife that if they happen to get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will probably be managing their Saturday soccer side," he said.

"I observed my nephews play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I obviously was involved with a soccer team for a while too.

"My father coached with us when I was a child, which is likely where I get it from. He managed our side for two or three years and had a wonderful time with it. That could be the future for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Premier League Forecasts

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues might have to wait a bit longer for their star's comeback from injury but their attack is now stronger with Pedro and Delap both returned to fitness.

In my opinion this fixture will be quite tight, however. The Clarets are disciplined and their only at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against Liverpool and Arsenal.

This smells of a 1-1 tie to me, but I am actually going to choose the London side to win narrowly for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.

The expert's prediction: 1-2

The singer's pick: Chelsea will be too strong. 1-3

AI's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have lost their previous couple matches - although both of them were away - but they got thoroughly beaten by Villa last time out which shocked me.

In contrast, West Ham won two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they do look strong again.

The Hammers' only on the road victory this season came at Nottingham Forest in August, when their boss Nuno was previously that team's coach.

Therefore, what exactly do I predict here - will it be West Ham extending their streak under their manager, or Bournemouth responding?

I am going to go with Bournemouth, because I believe what occurred against Aston Villa was a blip.

Sutton's prediction: 2-0

The guest's outlook: Bournemouth are doing well but the visitors have picked up under Nuno. 2-2

The algorithm's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were considered one of the favourites for relegation before the campaign started, but they have surprised a several people under their manager and are in fine fettle with three in their last four games.

A family member advised me to get Bees forward Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks back and, guess what, I didn't listen.

The forward will likely score again on Saturday but I am nonetheless not going to select him or back Brentford at Amex Stadium.

The Bees have not had much success on the travel this term, and the Seagulls are consistently strong at home. The visitors will try to hit them on the break but I feel the home manager's side carry much more of a threat.

Sutton's forecast: 2-1

The singer's view: This could be a match where you expect there is going to be a many goals but it in reality turns out to be quite close. 1-1

AI's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a massive fixture for the Cottagers, who have suffered defeat in five of their past six games.

Fulham have have lots of talent in their team but it still seems like they could be sucked into a drop zone fight.

Regarding Sunderland, indeed they are the surprise package of the Premier League campaign so far.

The away side's performance in the 2-2 draw with the Gunners last time out was superb. We've not seen anyone else disrupt the Gunners like that this term, and they were more than a match for them.

The sensible thing would be to back the Black Cats here, because they are obviously able of disrupting the hosts up too and, the last time they were in west London, they beat the Blues at the end of October.

But I am not going to choose that. Rather, I truly need to continue going against Sunderland with my forecasts. I am taking a lot of credit for their good results because they evidently love to defy my predictions.

Considering the home side's at Craven Cottage record, the sole team they have been defeated by is the league leaders. Their manager's side will be absolutely desperate for a good outcome, so I am going to predict they will pick up three much-needed points.

The expert's prediction: 1-0

Olly's prediction: I know Sunderland are doing well and also that the hosts are on a bad streak... but Fulham have nonetheless been respectable at Craven Cottage this campaign. 2-0

AI's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a hard one to predict. The Reds have suffered seven of their past 10 games in every tournament, but might they be among the sides who profit from the {international break|
