The Blue Jays Earn World Series Showdown Versus Los Angeles Dodgers
Springer previously helped the Houston Astros securing the championship in the 2017 season.
The Toronto Blue Jays reached their initial Fall Classic after 1993 by overcoming the Seattle Mariners in the final Game 7 of the AL Championship Series.
Trailing 3-1, outfielder George Springer smashed a three-run homer in the seventh frame, guiding the Toronto squad in the majors to a 4-3 series victory in the series. They will now face the defending champions, the team that is the reigning title, in the anticipated World Series.
"It's incredible for this squad, our city, the nation," commented Springer, a key player of the Astros team that secured the 2017 World Series. "What an amazing experience."
George Springer has now connected for 23 October home runs, making him third on the list after Manny Ramirez (twenty-nine) and Altuve (twenty-seven).
"There's probably not another player in the world that I'd prefer in that moment other than Springer with his October magic," remarked Schneider.
Seattle's team, despite leading the series 2-0 and 3-2, are still the only MLB franchise never to appear in a Fall Classic.
Manager Dan Wilson stated "without a doubt that it's painful" in the wake of his side's defeat at Toronto's Rogers Centre, but applauded their performance throughout the year.
"It's a special team. Unfortunately that we had to come out on the unsuccessful side of this game," he added.
Toronto secured the title on both previous visits in 1992 and '93, and are set to host the Dodgers in game one on this Friday.
